Project Overview

The 2024 Summer Road Trip Sticker Pack was born out of a desire to create a tangible, engaging way for families and travelers to document their journeys through some of America’s most iconic national parks and landmarks. This sticker pack is designed for placement in travel journals, scrapbooks, or as mementos of a great adventure.

Concept Development

The idea stemmed from the notion of enhancing the road trip experience by offering something more than just photos and memories. Stickers serve as a creative way to mark each visited destination, making the journey feel more interactive and personal. The goal was to capture the essence of each location in a modern, minimalist style that appeals to both kids and adults.

Design and Illustration

From initial sketches to final digital artwork, each sticker was carefully crafted to reflect the unique character of each destination:

Badlands National Park – Highlighting the rugged, jagged formations of the Badlands, this design uses bold, simplified lines and warm colors to capture the park’s distinct landscape.

Devils Tower National Monument – The iconic tower stands tall against a dynamic sky, emphasizing its mysterious allure and natural prominence.

Dinosaur National Monument – Featuring the area’s famed dinosaur heritage, this design blends paleontological elements with the park’s dramatic rock formations.

Glenwood Springs, Colorado – Known for its hot springs, this sticker captures the relaxing, serene vibes of the location with wavy lines symbolizing the warm waters.

Grand Teton National Park – The sharp peaks of the Tetons are represented alongside dense forests and wildlife, encapsulating the park’s natural beauty.

Mt. Rushmore National Memorial – A simplified yet recognizable depiction of the four presidents carved into the Black Hills, set against a vibrant sky.

Rocky Mountain National Park – This design brings to life the sweeping landscapes, dense forests, and wildlife that define the Rockies.

Wall Drug – An iconic stop on any road trip through South Dakota, the Wall Drug sticker captures the unique signage and roadside charm of this famous attraction.

Yellowstone National Park – Featuring a geyser and a bison, this sticker emphasizes Yellowstone’s geothermal wonders and wildlife.

Production Process

The production phase involved overseeing every aspect, from selecting materials to working with print vendors to ensure high-quality stickers that would be durable and visually striking. Each sticker was printed on high-quality vinyl with a matte finish, making them perfect for outdoor use and resistant to wear and tear.

Challenges and Solutions

One of the main challenges was ensuring that each design was both detailed enough to be recognizable and simplified enough to work at the sticker scale. This balance was achieved through a series of iterations and refinements in the illustration process. Another challenge was managing the production timeline to ensure the stickers were ready for the travel season.

Outcome

The sticker pack has been a hit among travelers, families, and outdoor enthusiasts who love collecting and documenting their adventures in a unique way. The designs have received positive feedback for their vibrant colors, stylish illustrations, and ability to capture the essence of each location.
