In the book of Leviticus five offerings are presented to people of Israel. Beginning at God’s perspective, each offering as a type of Christ is a step closer to us. So when God comes to us in the person of Jesus he surrendered himself entirely (burnt offering), gave himself as a living sacrifice (grain offering), made peace with God for us (peace offering), atoned for our sins (sin offering) and paid for the guilt of our sin (guilt offering).
Because of Christ’s sacrifice we are forgiven (guilt offering), we have power over sin (sin offering), we have fellowship with God through Jesus (peace offering), we are a living sacrifice (grain offering), we are full committed to God through Jesus (burnt offering).
